The Department of Mass Communication, Enugu Stat University of Science and Technology, ESUT has re-launched its newspaper, ESUT Monitor after years of dormancy even as it unveiled its website, https://esutmonitor.com

The newspaper which serves as a training medium for the students in the department was revived following the appointment of Dr Chidiebere Ezinwa as the new Head of Department, recently.

Speaking on the re-launch of the ESUT Monitor Newspaper and unveiling of its website, Dr Ezinwa said it was part of the department’s move in ensuring that the students get first hand practical and training experience to improve their learning and enhance professionalism in their career.

“We deemed it necessary to re-launch the newspaper after years of dormancy. The Departmental Board saw the gap in students’ practical learning and the need to revive the newspaper which had become dormant for some years, became imperative.  

“ESUT Monitor Newspaper and its website will offer the students practical experiences and on-the-desk training away from the classroom theoretical disposition they have been for long, exposed to.

“With the rebirth of ESUT Monitor Newspaper and the website, the students will gain first class knowledge in news reporting, newspaper planning and production as well as how to conduct interview and so many other techniques involved in print media,” he told ESUT Monitor Newspaper reporters in his office.

The HOD noted that the website is functional and enjoined the university community to always visit the site for the latest breaking, in-depth and exclusive new interviews and reports about the First Science and Technology University in the country, ESUT.
