Faculty of Management Sciences Dean, Prof Oleka Promises Support ESUT Monitor Newspaper

The Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, (ESUT), Professor Chioma Oleka has promised to support the newly revived ESUT Monitor Newspaper even as she commended the board of Mass Communication Department for their effort restoring the paper

Professor Oleka made the commendation on Tuesday when the Editorial team of the paper led by the News Editor, Joseph Joy paid her a visit in her office.

The First Female dean, whose administration in few years have continued to elevate the faculty above its peers in the university, described the visit as an honour and expressed joy on the rebirth of the newspaper regarded as the “Mouth piece of the University community”

She ascribed the revival of the newspaper to grace as well as the dedicated efforts of the new Mass Communication HOD, Dr Chidiebere Ezinwa which defines her faculty, highlighting its unwavering resilience.

“I lack words to express the fantastic work you people have done,” she commended

“My faculty is a faculty with grace; there is a grace that works because we don’t carry last. I am very happy to witness the revival of ESUT Monitor. You will not forget the fact that there is new administration in Mass Communication, and I am not surprised. Congratulations,” she added.

The First Female Dean in the faculty charged the department and the editorial team to ensure that the revival is not a one-off project and expressed her desire to see the next edition of the paper soonest.

“To whom much is given, much is expected. Let this not be the first and last. I am eagerly anticipating the next edition.”

Upon learning that the newspaper plans to publish bi-monthly, she praised the decision and extended her prayers for the team’s success. “I pray that God will supply you with everything you need in this production.

“If there are challenges with funds for continuous exercises, let the faculty know,” she concluded.

The interview highlighted the Faculty of Management’s anticipation and robust support for the ongoing success of ESUT Monitor.

Highlight of the visit was official presentation of a copy of the newspaper to the Dean by the editorial team.

ESUT Monitor Newspaper is published by the Department of Mass Communication, ESUT. The paper serves as a training medium for the students.
