ESUT Monitor Unveils Pumper Special Matriculation Edition

In continuation of its commitment to consistently and conscientiously remain the vibrant voice of the university community, the Department of Mass Communication will today unveil its second edition of ESUT Monitor Newspaper hardcopy

Tagged Special Matriculation Edition and dedicated to the celebration of the 43rd ESUT Matriculation Ceremony holding today, the paper comes out with variety of information to serve all the news needs of the university community.  

With Exclusive interviews from the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, Honourable Commissioners in Enugu State, breakthrough in entrepreneurship in ESUT, Sports, Campus gist to national and state news, the new edition of ESUT Monitor is filled with news to enrich the university community information rich.

Speaking ahead of the unveiling, the Head of Department, Dr Chidiebere Ezinwa expressed gratitude to the ESUT Management led by the dynamic Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, the Board of Mass Communication Department as well as the Editorial Team for once again ascribing to the vision of the department in ensuring that the students are trained in the best journalism school.

He however lamented the challenges the paper is facing and called for support.

“Today, February 23, 2024 which is the Matriculation Day, ESUT Monitor second edition will be unveiled to the university community. We made a commitment when we relaunched the paper in November last year and by the special grace of God and support of the ESUT Management, we are keeping to our words.  

“We are grateful to the ESUT Management led by our disruptive innovator, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie for their support. The departmental board has always been there for us.

“I must sincerely appreciate the members of the editorial team for their sacrifices and commitment because it is not always easy to combine classroom lectures and the fieldwork.

“Of course, the road has not been smooth for us. The challenges are there, many of them. The cost of printing has gone astronomically high. This is our major challenge. Inflation has made the cost of printing to be way out of our reach. But we will not relent. We are soliciting for the support of the management, individuals, corporate bodes in this regard,” he said.

It could be recalled that the ESUT Monitor Newspaper was relaunched in November last year during the 19th Convocation Ceremony held on 18th of the month along with the website.

With a crop of dedicated editors and reporters, ESUT Monitor has been and will continue to serve the University community and the publisher, Mass Communication Department, has promised that the paper will remain afloat as the watchdog of the university.
