Late ESUT VC’s Mother’s Burial: University Management To Present Cow, Others To Family

The University Community will today make presentation to the Vice-Chancellor, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Nnabugwu Okolie during his late mother’s burial.

Late Ezinne Onuzulike Okolie, aged 81, died on March 5, 2024.

Speaking in exclusive Interview with ESUT Monitor in Enugu on Thursday, the chairman, ESUT Burial Committee, Prof Chike Nwoha, said the University will support the family at this critical time.

Prof Nwoha who is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, said that in traditionally, the university will present a cow to to the VC and his family adding that other items will be included.

“So far so good. You can see that we are doing the final meeting to see that we show the final respect and to ensure that tomorrow (today) our staff would go there comfortably.

“Injohn Igbo land you know, cow must be there, tubers of yam, cash and drinks.

“We have also made contingency arrangements on how to take our staff to the burial venue and return then back safely. We are trusting God that the burial will be a huge success and we will continue to show our support to the VC and his family,” he said.

The burial ceremony of Late Lucy Onuzulike Okolie will commence with requim mass at St Michael’s Cathedral, Awgu to be officiated by the Bishop, Most Rev John Ifeanyichukwu Okoye, Bishop of Awgu Catholic Diocese by 11am
