The final match of the annual VC League, held on August 7, 2024, drew an enthusiastic crowd of students, staff and visitors, showcasing the spirit of healthy competition and community support championed by the Student Union Government (SUG) and the university management.

The grand finale of the VC League took place on August 7, 2024, marking a significant event on campus with a remarkable turnout. Attendees included members of the university management, the Student Union Government (SUG), students, and visitors, all eager to witness the culmination of this year’s fiercely contested tournament.

The event was spearheaded by SUG President Eze Kachi, whose dedication and tireless efforts ensured the competition’s smooth progression. Under his leadership, the league has become a highlight of the university’s calendar, fostering camaraderie and school spirit among participants and spectators alike.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aloysius-Michaels, a key sponsor and advocate of the VC League, was commended for his unwavering support. His commitment to promoting healthy competition on campus was evident as he demanded a list of winners from each category to ensure they receive proper recognition. This gesture underscores the administration’s dedication to encouraging student engagement in extracurricular activities.

Adding to the day’s excitement was an announcement from the SUG regarding significant improvements to the campus healthcare system. The healthcare unit has not only become fully operational but also expanded with the addition of ten new staff members. These enhancements were on display as healthcare personnel provided first aid to students during the matches, ensuring the well-being of all participants.

In a statement on behalf of the SUG, appreciation was extended to both the management and the student body for their collective contributions to the success of the VC League. The SUG emphasized the importance of such events in fostering a sense of unity and healthy competition among students.

The VC League has proven to be more than just a series of sports matches; it is a celebration of student talent, administrative support, and the collaborative spirit that defines the university community. As the final whistle blew, the cheering crowd left with a renewed sense of pride and anticipation for next year’s league, confident in the continued success of this cherished campus tradition.
