Deanship Elections: ESUT Releases Guidelines, Insists On August 15 Date

The management of Nigeria’s premier university of science and technology, ESUT, has released guidelines for the conduct of 2024 deanship elections in the university.
Elections into various dean’s positions across 13 faculties in the university will hold on Thursday, 15th August, 2024.
In a circular released on Monday and signed by the university registrar, Mr Ambrose Ugwu, it reaffirmed that the election date fixed some months ago, remains sacrosanct.
The guidelines released outlined the venues for each faculty election, VC’s and Registrar’s representatives as well as time for the commencement of election which is 11am. Accreditation starts by 10am while reports of the elections are expected to be submitted on the following day.
The 13 faculties and their venues for elections are:
Agriculture & Natural Resources Management - Faculty Auditorium
Biological Sciences – Faculty Auditorium
Physical Science – Faculty Auditorium.
Basic Clinical Sciences – Med. Lab. Classroom 1
Basic Medical Sciences – Med. Lab. Classroom 2
Clinical Medicine – College Auditorium
Education – Faculty Auditorium
Engineering – Faculty Auditorium
Environmental Sciences – Faculty Auditorium
Law – Faculty Auditorium
Management Sciences – Faculty Auditorium
Health and Allied Sciences – Faculty Auditorium
Social Sciences and Humanities – Faculty Auditorium
The management warned that the entire election will be conducted on the same date and time and charged Faculty Officers to print the election ballot papers ahead of time.
“The entire election will be conducted on the same date and time. Faculty Officers are required to prepare the ballot boxes and ballot papers ahead of the election. All the faculty board members should arrive at their respective venues by 10am for the accreditation as the election will commence at 11am. The Vice-Chancellor’s and Registrar’s representatives are expected to submit their reports to the Registrar before the close of work on Friday, August 16, 2024,” the circular concluded.
