Each Morning I Wake Up, I’ll First Read ESUT Monitor Newspaper To Brighten My Day – Prof Okwo, Dean Student Affairs

Agbani – The Dean, Student Affairs, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Professor Ifeoma Okwo has extolled the great impact ESUT Monitor Newspaper (EMN) is making as the university’s information bearer.

Prof Okwo stated this when the Editorial Team of EMN paid her a courtesy visit in her office on Wednesday.

Expressing her delight on the work the newspaper is doing, Prof Okwo said that each day in the morning she reads ESUT Monitor Newspaper to get information about the latest development in the citadel.

Delighted over the visit, Prof Okwo who said that the Student Affairs will collaborate with EMN, noted that the paper has not only become the watchdog of the university, but a reference base for both staff and students.

“Each day, before I leave my house, I will make sure that I read ESUT Monitor because the stories are always posted early. The information I get brighten my day because you get the perspective of latest happenings in Esut. I urge you to keep it up,” she said.

Responding to a question on management’s new directive that students must pay their school fees before paying for their accommodation which the students complained that the information came late and is causing them discomfort, Prof Okwo said the directive is in the interest of the students.

While she acknowledged the students’ complaints, she also appealed to them to show appreciation to the university management, who, despite having all the indices for upward review of the school fees decided not to.

Earlier, the Staff Adviser of ESUT Monitor Newspaper, Mr Amaechi Agbo, told the Dean that the Editorial Team of the newspaper was in her office to officially introduce the newspaper to her, congratulate her on her new appoint and seek areas of collaboration.
