Students Who Didn’t Meet 75% Lecture Attendance Will Not Write Exams – ESUT’s Dean Student Affairs, Prof Okwo Warns

Agbani – ESUT students who are yet to resume school, will not be eligible to write the first semester examination, the management have warned.
The Dean, Student Affairs, Prof Ifeoma Okwo gave the warning on Wednesday in an interview with ESUT Monitor in her office.
Prof Okwo expressed worry that four weeks into the new semester, many students have refused to return to campus .
She warned that Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments have been directed to ensure that lecturers report to the lecture halls and take attendance adding that students who did not meet the 75% attendance rate will not be eligible to write the semester examination next year.
“I am worried that by now many students are not yet back to campus. The Deans and HODs have been asked to ensure that lecturers are in classrooms and attendance must be taken
“Let me emphasis it that students without 75% of attendance to lectures are not eligible and should not write examinations,” she said. .
It could be recalled that the first semester of 2024/2025 academic session began on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Investigation by this paper shows that many students are yet to report back to school after week 4 of resumption as lecture halls visited had few students with lecturers on duty.
The first semester examination is expected to be written in March or April next year.
