FMS Dean Prof Ugwuanyi Constitutes Four Committees For Effective Leadership

Agbani- – In living up to his acceptance speech that he would operate an inclusive administration, the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, ESUT, Prof Uche Ugwuanyi has set up four committees to help in transforming the faculty.

Prof Ugwuanyi in separate circulars made available to ESUT Monitor said that the formation of the committees is to ensure that the determination to reposition the faculty and make it the best in learning, teaching, infrastructure and advancement of global network is attained.

The Committees are: Works, Ethics and privileges, Environmental Sanitation and Welfare.

Prof. Kevin Ugwu was announced as the Chairman of Works Committee while Joel Asogwa will serve as the Secretary.

Ethics and Privileges Committee will be chaired by Barr. Dr Victoria Nnenna Chukwuani whereas Rev. Sr. Dr. Ndidi Emeh serves as the Secretary

Dr. Dennis Iyidiobi Ochiaka and Mr. Anthony Okorie Nwabuisi are the chairman and the Secretary of Environmental Sanitation Committee, in that other. Welfare committee is headed by Prof. Ngozi Ejionueme, Dr. Virginia Nnenna Onyeka is the scribe

While announcing the committees, Prof Ugwuanyi said that their terms of office would be for one academic year and urged them to bring their expertise to bear in galvanizing the faculty to achieve its dreams

“Hearty congratulations to these appointees. Your expertise and dedication will undoubtedly enhance the faculty’s infrastructure and operations.

“Your appointment is a testament to your capabilities, and we look forward to your contributions.

“The Committee’s term of office shall be for one academic year, renewable upon satisfactory performance.

“Please accept my best wishes as you embark on this critical responsibility.
Thank you for your service to the Faculty of Management Science,” Ugwuanyi said.

WORKS COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Terms of Reference:
The Works Committee will be responsible for:

  1. Maintaining and upgrading faculty facilities.
  2. Overseeing renovation and construction projects.
  3. Ensuring compliance with safety and security standards.
  4. Coordinating maintenance of equipment and utilities.
  5. Advising on space allocation and utilization.
  6. Collaborating with the faculty administration on budgetary matters related to infrastructure.
    Expectations:
    As members of the Works Committee, you are expected to:
  7. Demonstrate proactive leadership and innovative problem-solving.
  8. Ensure timely completion of projects and maintenance tasks.
  9. Foster collaboration with faculty staff, students, and external stakeholders.
  10. Provide regular progress reports to the faculty administration.
  11. Align committee activities with the school’s transformative agenda.

ETHICS AND PRIVILEGES COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The Committee shall address ethics-related complaints and concerns, ensuring fairness, integrity, and confidentiality.
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and resolving ethics-related issues
  • Providing guidance on ethics and privileges matters
  • Reviewing and updating the faculty’s ethics policy
     
    Scope of Coverage:
    The Committee’s scope includes all faculty members, staff, and students, covering issues related to:
  • Conflict of interest and confidentiality
  • Professional conduct and behavior
  • Academic integrity
     
    Expectations: Committee members are expected to:
  • Act with integrity, impartiality, and confidentiality
  • Avoid conflicts of interest
  • Cultivate a culture of ethics and accountability within the faculty ² ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION COMMITTEE MEMBERS

  3. Ensure compliance with university and national environmental regulations.
  4. Advise the Faculty Management on environmental and sanitation matters.
  5. Collaborate with relevant university units to enhance environmental services.
     
    Scope of Coverage: The Committee’s scope includes:
  6. Faculty buildings, classrooms, and offices.
  7. Surrounding environment, including waste management and landscaping.
  8. Water and energy conservation.
  9. Promotion of environmental awareness among staff and students.
     
    Expectations:
  10. Conduct regular environmental inspections and report to the Faculty Management.
  11. Develop and implement a waste management plan.
  12. Organize environmental awareness programs and campaigns.
  13. Ensure proper maintenance of faculty facilities and equipment.
  14. Submit quarterly reports to the Faculty Management.
     
    WELFARE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

    Scope of Coverage: The Committee’s scope includes:
  5. Staff welfare (health, safety, and well-being).
  6. Student welfare (academic support, counseling, and social services).
  7. Faculty environment and infrastructure.
     
    Expectations:
  8. Promote a supportive and inclusive faculty environment.
  9. Ensure timely response to welfare concerns.
  10. Foster collaboration among faculty members and students.
  11. Submit quarterly reports to the Faculty Management.
