By Amaechi Agbo

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL champions Rangers International F.C. are determined to secure victory against Plateau United on Thursday, March 27, 2025, in a crucial match day 31 clash.

The match will hold at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, nicknamed ‘the Cathedral” with the eight-time champions seeking to collect the visitors ‘tithe” three points at stake

The “Flying Antelopes,” eager to close the gap at the top of the league table, welcome the return of key players Kenechukwu Agu, Godwin Obaje, Silas Nenrot, and Charles Okafor.

Their availability bolsters coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s squad, providing valuable options as they face their former coach, Mbwas Mangut, and his “Peace Boys.”

The reverse fixture in Jos ended in a goalless stalemate on November 10, 2024. Now, Rangers, currently positioned 5th, aim to capitalize on home advantage against 15th-placed Plateau United.

Historically, Plateau United holds a slight edge with eight wins compared to Rangers’ six, with two draws in their 16 encounters.

Recent form suggests a tight contest. Rangers have recorded two wins, one draw, and three losses in their last six outings, while Plateau United boasts three wins, two losses, and a draw in the same period.

Anticipation is high for an enthralling match, promising attacking football, midfield battles, and resolute defending.

Home fans can expect a passionate Rangers side, driven to secure a vital win and propel themselves up the league standings as the season enters its final stretch.

The match will kick-off by 4pm. Rangers are currently 5th on the log with 45 points from 30 matches while their guests are 15th with 39 points from same games.
