Ahmed Musa Consoles Kano State Govt. Over death of 22 Athletes, Officials in Auto Crash

Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa has expressed his condolences to the Kano State Government, the Sports Commission and families of the victims of the Saturday auto crash that claimed the lives of 21 athelets and officials.

Kano State contingent to the just concluded 2024 National Sports Festival in Ogun State were on Saturday involved in a fatal accident on t their way back to Kano. The Accident which happened 50 kilometers away from the Centre of Excellence, claimed the lives of 21 persons including athletes, medical personnel, administrators and journalists

Writing from the Super Eagles camp in Brentford, London where he helped the team to retain the Unity Cup Tournament on Saturday after they beat Jamaica 5-4 on penalties, Musa described the inicdent as a shock and asked God to console the bereaved and heal the injured.

“Extend my heartfelt condolences to the Kano State Government, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Sports Commission following the tragic auto crash that claimed the lives of 21 individuals from our contingent returning from the National Sports Festival in Ogun State. This devastating loss has left us in shock and grief.

“May Almighty Allah grant the souls of the departed athletes, journalists, medical personnel, and administrators eternal peace and grant their families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured and offer my support to the affected families during this difficult time. May Allah comfort us all,” he said.

Initial report clams that 20 person died during the accident but the number has risen to 21 with others in hospital.
