The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has accused Eunisell Production Solutions of illegally using its brand name and mark in promoting the “Eunisell Highest Goal Scorer Award”.
In a strongly worded letter dated June 11, 2025, the NPFL chairman, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, asserted that Eunisell neither had a formal partnership with the league nor approval from its board to use the NPFL name in any form.
According to the letter, the NPFL considers this act a breach of intellectual property and has issued a warning to the company to cease all such usage or risk legal escalation. The league has threatened to report the incident to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) if the matter is not resolved amicably.
The NPFL invited Eunisell to initiate formal discussions to rectify the situation, labeling the current branding association as an “abnormality.”
Stakeholders are watching closely to see how the issue unfolds, especially as it raises questions about the regulation of corporate partnerships in Nigerian football.
