The wife of the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Her Excellency, Lady Ezinne Ihuoma Onyeme will arrive the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 to be part of the maiden International Conference of the Department of Quantity Surveying, ESUT

Her Excellency, an alumnus of the department, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the two-day Conference scheduled to hold at the Prof Julius Onah Auditorium between Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday 26, 2025

Themed “The Quantity Surveyors Eche”, the Conference will bring together scholars, researchers, industry players, business experts , among others to brainstorm on the importance of quantity surveying in the environment and the need to preserve the ecosystem and the natural hemisphere

Her Excellency, Lady Onyeme is among key personalities to grace the Conference and ESUT Monitor can report authoritatively that she would be present during the conference which stars from 10am each day.

The Special Guest of Honour, Lady Ezinne Catherine Ihuoma Onyeme, is a distinguished philanthropist and accomplished professional, has innate passion for academic excellence, Lady Catherine later gained admission to the prestigious Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where she studied Quantity Surveying and graduated with honors.

Her thirst for higher education took her to the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom, where she earned a Master’s degree in Educational Studies.

Lady Catherine’s professional journey began in 2002 at the Federal College of Education
(Technical), Asaba, where she has held several key positions. Initially employed as an academic staff member in the Building Department, she later served as a Quantity Surveyor, Head of the Maintenance Department in the Works and Services Unit, and Head of the Physical Planning Division. She eventually rose to the position of Acting Director of Works.

She is a Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNIQS). Beyond her professional achievements, Lady Catherine is widely celebrated as a philanthropist with a large heart, deeply involved in numerous charity and humanitarian initiatives, particularly through the Lions Club International—the world’s largest service-oriented organization, boasting over 1.5 million members across 203 countries.

As the Charter President of the Asaba Jextoban Lions Club in District 404A1 Nigeria, she has spearheaded countless outreach programs aimed at uplifting the less privileged in Delta State and beyond. Her efforts have touched lives through medical outreach programs, educational support, and community development projects.

Well-traveled and experienced in diverse cultural and professional spheres, Lady Catherine is a beacon of hope to many. Her wide exposure and empathy have made her a role model and an agent of change.
Ezinne (Lady) Catherine Ihuoma Onyeme is happily married to her supportive and my amiable husband, Sir Monday John Onyeme, who is currently the Deputy Governor of Delta State together, they are blessed with five wonderful children.
