ESUT Registrar Ambrose Ugwu Emerges President NIPSS PSLC-42 Alumni

Chief Ambrose Ugwu, pni, Registrar of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), has been elected President of the Enugu State Chapter of the Policy, Strategic and Leadership Course (PSLC-42) Alumni of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.

His emergence as President headlined the chapter’s inaugural meeting held on June 22, 2025, at the New Berries Event Centre, National Museum Arena, GRA, Enugu. The leadership is expected to steer the course of the alumni body and provide strategic direction for its members.

Other elected executives include Mr. Madueke Nsude, pni (Director of Administration, Government House, Enugu, retired) as Secretary; PS Sonny Okafor, pni as Public Relations Officer; Mrs. Vivian Onah, pni as Treasurer; and Mr. John Ife Ajogwu, pni as Provost.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Ugwu described his election as a great honour and pledged to build a formidable and united alumni union that reflects the vision of NIPSS. He emphasized the importance of effective networking among members and reaffirmed commitment to fostering a sense of fraternity within the group.

He appreciated the Enugu State Government for sponsoring 28 indigenes to participate in Course 42 of the Institute in 2021 and encouraged the government to continue investing in civil service capacity-building through the institute, noting the immense benefits of such exposure.

Commending the chapter for maintaining a strong and unified ethos since inception, Mr. Ugwu assured members that the new executive will infuse renewed energy into the union. He also expressed readiness to collaborate with other alumni groups, particularly Course 41, to strengthen the association’s presence and impact in the state.

The gathering also used the occasion to congratulate former Senate President, His Excellency Dr. Ken Nnamani, GCON, on his recent appointment as Chairman of the NIPSS Governing Council.
