Former President  Buhari Dies At 82

Former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has passed away, aged 82.

Late Buahri died in a hospital in London, United Kingdom, in the early hours of Sunday  at 4:42 AM local time, following a brief illness.

Garba Shehu, his spokesperson, announced his demise on Sunday in a post on X.

“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London.
May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” he wrote.

Family sources and close aides confirmed the death, stating that Buhari had been receiving medical care abroad for the past few weeks.

President Buhari, served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985, and later as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023
