Prof Chikeleze to Deliver ESUT 50th Inaugural Lecture in August

An erudite scholar, Prof Francis Okechukwu Chikeleze will on August 28th, 2025 deliver the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT 50th Inaugural Lecture.

A Professor of Public Administration in the Department of Public Administration, ESUT, Professor Chikeleze will be dissecting the topic “Extreme Ownership and Public Sector Management: issues in Human Capital Management.”

At the 50th Inaugural Lecture which will hold at the prestigious 1000-capciaty Multipurpose Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Auditorium, ESUT, Professor Chikeleze will be shedding light on the importance of adopting extreme ownership principles in public sector management to drive efficiency and productivity. As well as emphasize the importance of effective human capital management in the public sector, including strategies for talent acquisition, development, and retention.

The concept of extreme ownership, popularized by former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, emphasizes taking complete responsibility for outcomes and results in one’s organization. In the context of public sector management, this approach encourages leaders to take ownership of their team’s successes and failures, rather than blaming external factors or subordinates.

The 50th Inaugural Lecturer whose tens of research works have over 10 000 reads and numerous citations in ResearchGate is described among colleagues and peers as humane, humble, vocal and unassuming.

Profe Chikeleze is a respected “Academic iroko” in ESUT and his decades of experiences in molding and training the future managers of the society in the Faculty of Management Sciences, will be brought to the fore on Thursday, August 28 when he mounts the podium to deliver the 50th Inaugural Lecture of the Nigeria’s First State-owned University by 11am.
