Prof Mike Anyanwaokoro to Deliver ESUT’s 53rd Inaugural Lecture

By Ali Hope and Chidinma Nwobodo

Professor Mike Anyanwaokoro will on Thursday, November 13, 2025 deliver the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) 53rd Inaugural Lecture.

The Professor of Banking and Finance will anchor the lecture on the theme “Money, the Heart of the Matter: Tackling Financial Challenges in Households and Organisations”.

The Inaugural Lecture will hold at the multipurpose Dr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah Auditorium at ESUT, Agbani starting from 11am.

Professor Anyanwaokoro will be the 22nd Professor to deliver his Inaugural Lecture under the administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie since August 18, 2022 when Professor Ngozika Mbajiorgu presented the 31st Lecture.

As a Professor of Banking, Professor Mike Anyanwaokoro’s Inaugural Lecture is expected to dissect issues relating to household and organisational financial management for efficient society. He will also explain how managing finance judiciously is key to a stable home, progressive organisation and how the quest to accumulate more money is the reason politicians see election as a “do or die” affair.

“If you notice constant quarrels or lasting harmonious relationships between husband and wife, you do not need to go too far looking for the cause. Just suspect that it must be MONEY at the heart of the matter.

“If you hear that ASUU or any other labour union is on strike for months, or you see politicians playing politics as if it is a do or die affair or a staff being afraid of retirement, just suspect that it must be MONEY at the heart of the matter,” The 53rd Inaugural Lecturer said.
