Enugu – The Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, (FMS) ESUT, Professor Uchenna Ugwuanyi has commended staff of the faculty for their dedication and unwavering  commitment to service which has signposted the FMS as one of the best in the university.

Professor Ugwuanyi made the commendation in Enugu on Friday during the 2025 End-of-the-year programme of the faculty. While extolling the staff for their love, tolerance and understanding, the Dean however cautioned them on prudent spending during the festive period.

“As we gather here today, I am filled with joy and gratitude to see all of us; beautiful and handsome faces, united in the spirit of Christmas. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to each of you. Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence have made our faculty one of the best in the university. Your contributions have not gone unnoticed, and I am grateful for your tireless efforts.

“I also want to remind you that the festive season is a time for reflection and wise decision-making. As we indulge in merriment and feasting, let us not forget that January brings new responsibilities and challenges. Let us be mindful of our spending, and prioritize our resources for the demands that lie ahead. I urge you to be wise and prudent in your celebrations. Remember, success is not an excuse for recklessness, but a call to greater responsibility,” he said.

Professor Ugwunayi, nicknamed “Mr Project” for his visible infrastructure that has transformed the faculty, also used the occasion to renew his commitment to more quality, engaging leadership with a view to making FMS the best in the university. He therefore called for continued expression of love among all to depict not just the meaning of the season but as a symbol that has continued to cement the bond in the faculty.

“As your Dean, I promise to continue to provide leadership that is inclusive, respectful, and committed to excellence. Together, we shall strive for greatness, and make our Faculty of Management Sciences the best it can be.

“To all our esteemed colleagues, I say thank you for your understanding, tolerance, and quality relationships. Let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas – love, kindness, and generosity. Let us spread joy and cheer to those around us, and may the spirit of Christmas stay with us throughout the year.”

Highlight of the 2025 Faculty of Management Sciences Get-together event held on Friday, December 12, 2025 was bestowing of Award of Excellence to the Dean by the Faculty Welfare Committee.
