The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Education, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, has gotten a new Reader, Dr Samuel Onyinyechi Nneji.
The University management on Tuesday unveiled 40 newly promoted staff made up of 18 professors and 22 Readers from 17 departments.
Reader Nneji is a Mathematics, Statistics, Research and Computer Science educator. He holds NCE (maths/Int.Sc), HND (maths/Statistics), B.Ed (maths educ), M.Sc (science and Computer Education, maths option), M.Sc (Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation) and Ph.D (maths Education).
He has taught Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science and research in many universities and other tertiary institutions including: Evangel University, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Institute of Ecumenical Education, Enugu State College of Education, Crown Theological Seminary and Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where he serves as a full time lecturer.
The new Reader has written many books and published over sixty-three (63) well researched and peer reviewed works in reputable local and international indexed academic journals with high impact factor.

Nneji is a member of some noble academic groups including being a life member of Mathematical Association of Nigeria, member, the Nigerian Mathematical Society, member, Institute of Strategic Management, member, Science Teacher’s Association of Nigeria, Associate member, Institute of Chartered Economics of Nigeria, member, Assocation of University Administrators, United kingdom, Graduate member, Nigeria Institute of Management, etc.
He has won many distinctions and awards such as – Higher Education Scholarship Award of National Mathematical Center Abuja, Best Graduating Science Student Award, 1999 set of FCE, Katsina, Ph.D scholarship Award from Federal Scholarship Board, NYSC Certificate of commendation, CTS/University of America Caliifornia’s Doctor of Divinity (DD), among others.
He has successfully supervised eight M.Sc dissertations, Co- supervised Seven Ph.D thesis and numerous undergraduate projects.
A role model and mentor to many current and graduated students in many universities, Dr Nneji hails from Akpugo in Nkanu West LGA of Enugu State .
Young, ebullient, hand working and dedicated, Reader Samuel Onyinyechi Nneji is a husband and father with adorable family.
