Veteran Nigerian international Victor Moses is set to part ways with English Championship club Luton Town FC at the end of the ongoing 2024-25 season, as per Africa Foot.
Moses, 34, is currently under contract with the Hatters until June 30, 2025, but both parties have agreed not to pursue an extension. The experienced winger joined Luton at the start of the season from Russian side Spartak Moscow.
In an exclusive interview with Africa Foot, a source at ROOF, the agency representing Moses, confirmed the player’s intention to leave the club and explore fresh opportunities elsewhere.
“He (Moses) hasn’t played much since the turn of the year, and that’s a fact we can’t run away from,” the source said. “But the internal decision has been made—he’ll leave the club at the end of the season. He wants to end his time at Luton on a high note. He’s focused, professional, and ready for the next challenge. One thing is clear—he’s not retiring.”
Moses last featured for Luton on January 18, 2025, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute for Isaiah Jones. In total, he has made 18 appearances for the club this season, scoring one goal.
Moses boasts one of the most decorated careers among modern Nigerian footballers. The former Super Eagles star has played for several elite clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Inter Milan. He has also featured for West Ham, Stoke City, Wigan Athletic, Crystal Palace, Fenerbahce, and Spartak Moscow.
Currently valued at €800,000 by Transfermarkt, the versatile winger is expected to weigh up his next move soon, with interest likely from clubs across Europe, the Middle East, and possibly MLS.
Internationally, Moses made 58 appearances for Nigeria, scoring 20 goals and assisting three times. He played a crucial role in Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) triumph and featured at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
With his Luton Town chapter nearing its end, Moses is eyeing one final adventure in what has been a truly remarkable career.
