The Vice-Chancellor of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie has charged staff of the university on the need to imbibe the virtual of probity and timely delivery of responsibilities.

Prof Okolie gave the charge at the University’s main campus in Agbani during a one-day capacity training of the staff on Wednesday
In his opening remarks, the VC emphasised that the training become paramount in view of the fact that the school will embark on first semester examination for the 2025/2026 academic session in March
“Today, we have gathered again for the purposes of enhancing our outputs. I must first of all, appreciate you all for you commitment to work. However, more are still required of us and that is why this training becomes very crucial.
“The first semester commenced in October and by first week of March, we will start examinations. Therefore, this training is necessitated by the need to ensure that we conduct ourselves in the best manner required of us as lecturers. Timely release and upload of results is paramount.
“We want our results to be uploaded on the website as soon as practicable. I believe that by now you are rounding up your lectures and getting reading for the examinations. I want to advise that the management will henceforth not tolerate delay in release of results. I want you to be upright, sincere and professional in the discharge of your duties,” the VC said
He warned that students who failed to register for the academic session within the stipulated time, automatically loses their academic status for the year

“I want to pass this message to the Deans and HODs to also disseminate it to the students. The era of non-ICT result list is over in ESUT. Any Student who failed to effect his/her registration and verification within the stipulated window had already processed themselves out of the university for the academic year. A bonafide student of the university is that student who paid not just the stipulated school fees but also carried out the online registration process for the academic session. Failure to register, the student loses the academic year,” he warned.
Earlier in his opening address, the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Chike Anibeze enjoined the staff to take the training seriously as a new lease of life is expected from them thereafter.
Some the staff interviewed by ESUT Monitor commended the university management for the training describing it as a timely exercise which would propel them to buckle up and effect changes where applicable
