The Vice-Chancellor of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, today inspected key infrastructure projects on the Agbani campus, including the new University Printing Press and the Faculty of Social Sciences building.

During the extensive site tour, the Vice-Chancellor closely monitored the progress of the developments and commended the contractors handling both projects for their hard work and dedication. However, he strongly urged them to remain meticulous and ensure that all execution strictly aligns with the professional design blueprints and recommended aesthetic standards.

The ongoing expansion under the Enugu State University of Science and Technology management aims to upgrade the campus environment to support its growing student population. The construction of the modern Faculty of Social Sciences block, a major development project financed by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), represents a significant addition to the university’s academic capacity.

Professor Okolie emphasized that standardising institutional buildings goes beyond mere completion—it directly impacts structural durability and visual harmony on campus.

“We are committed to delivering world-class structures for our staff and students. While the progress is commendable, the contractors must adhere precisely to the architectural design and aesthetic recommendations. There will be no compromise on quality or the established design templates.”

Accompanied by members of the university management team, the Vice-Chancellor reviewed technical segments of the buildings. He explained that a modern ivory tower requires facilities that reflect excellence, adding that the University Printing Press would play a crucial role in internalizing publishing needs, enhancing research dissemination, and driving revenue generation.

The engineering and construction teams onsite thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his proactive oversight and leadership, promising to integrate his observations immediately to complete the facilities on schedule.
