President of Abuja-based football Academy, Water FC, Makanjuola Nureni, has pledged his support for the Africa Arm wrestling Championship

The Chief Executive Officer of Water FC and respected football agent, MK is now extending his influence beyond football—pledging full support for the 14th African Armwrestling Championship set to hold in Abuja from July 23–27.

While MK has already made a verbal commitment to supporting the event, his reputation for delivering big when it comes to youth-focused projects has stirred massive excitement in the sports community. From helping footballers find their footing on global stages to supporting community-based tournaments, MK’s passion for raising future stars is unmatched.

MK—celebrated across the sports ecosystem as a builder of talent and champion of youth empowerment—described the project as “historic, massive, and worthy of national celebration and support,” especially with over 400 athletes and officials from 20 African countries expected to storm Nigeria’s capital city.

“Supporting the African Armwrestling Championship is not just about the sport—it’s about the future of our youth. Every platform that gives them purpose, discipline, and exposure deserves every kobo we can invest,” MK was quoted as saying during a private conversation with members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).

Makanjuola MK’s name rings loudly in the Nigerian sports scene—not only for producing elite football talents—but also for always showing up when it matters. His latest move positions him not just as a sports philanthropist, but a national asset for total sports development.

As the countdown to Abuja 2025 ticks toward 9 days, MK’s endorsement is more than symbolic—it’s strategic. His involvement is expected to inspire other well-meaning Nigerians and corporate bodies to come forward in support of the event, which will welcome over 400 athletes and officials from 24 countries.

The LOC Chairman, Hon. Adeboye Adeyinka, lauded MK’s gesture, calling him “a true friend of the youth and a champion of sport in all forms.”

“MK doesn’t just fund sports—he understands the emotional and economic impact it has on the youth. His support is priceless, and we are deeply honored.”

From Water FC to Abuja 2025, MK’s footprint continues to expand across sporting disciplines. His legacy isn’t just about football—it’s about building an entire generation through sports.

And as the stage sets for Africa’s biggest armwrestling event, it’s men like Makanjuola Nureni who ensure the dreams of young African athletes don’t just survive—but thrive

The Federal House of Representatives member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu has once again pledged his commitment to develop sports at grassroots and youths of Nigeria with a viwing to giving them fertile ground to excel in the careers.

He made this statement while congratulating the football team of National Grammar School Nike Enugu, on their win at the final of the Seconday Football Tournament in Abuja.

“Congratulations to National Grammar School Nike, Enugu State for making our dear State proud. We must continue to invest in grassroots sports and youth development. Make no mistakes, I saw hope and resilience in the eyes of these amazing young men.

“I was particularly touched when one of them urged us not to fail their generation. We must not fail them.” he said.

National Grammar School Nike, with rich history in sports, as a result of emerging victorious, represented Nigeria at the International School U-15 football competition in Togo, organised by the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF.

It could be recalled that the lawmaker organized and sponsored the U-15 football completion in Enugu named after him, the Hon. Chimaobi Atu U-15 football tournament with the intention of harnessing talents and engaging young minds.

Interestingly, the team that won the tournament in Enugu would later win the National School Tournament in Abuja, defeating all the states that participated. From Abuja, they represented Nigeria at the Continental School Tournament in Togo.

Honourable Atu and the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, respected Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka were with the team where they came third.
