As part of efforts to promote academic excellence, digital empowerment, and student development under the Renewed Hope Students’ Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme for the South-East Zone, the Dean, Student Affairs ESUT Prof. Ifeoma Okwo two Dell laptops were provided for presentation to two outstanding students in the Departments of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagement presented the two Dell laptops to the institution to recognize and reward students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance in the two departments.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Ifeoma Okwo, formally presented the laptops to the two outstanding students: Nwobodo Chidera of the Department of Computer Engineering and Eloike Anthony of the Department of Computer Science. Eloike Anthony was accompanied by his Head of Department, Dr. Ugwu.

The recipients were nominated by their respective Heads of Department at the request of the Dean of Student Affairs. Their recognition was in line with the objectives of the Renewed Hope Students’ Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme, which seeks to encourage academic excellence while equipping young Nigerians with the digital tools necessary for personal, academic, and professional development.

In her during the presentation, the Dean advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the laptops adding that the Renewed Hope Students’ Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme  is created to empower students in horning their digital skills.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Nwobodo Chidera thanked the Federal Government and the University management in putting the interest of the students in forefront and promised that the laptop systems will enhance their academic excellence.

The initiative underscores the University’s commitment to recognizing outstanding students and providing opportunities that support their academic and digital development. It is hoped that the recipients will make effective use of the devices to enhance their studies, develop their digital skills, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of technology in Nigeria.

The Renewed Hope Students’ Leaders Engagement and Digital Acceleration Programme is a federal government initiative organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagement. It aims to bridge communication between the government and student leaders, empower young people with modern digital skills, and promote technological entrepreneurship in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
