ESUT Holds Requiem Mass for Prof Mgbako Today

The Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT will today hold a requiem Mass in honour of Late Professor Miriam Ngozi Mgbako.

The Mass will hold at the New Chapel of Perpetual Adoration, opposite the Faculty of Engineering, ESUT starting from 12:30pm.

According to a circular released by the Chaplain, St Albert The Great Chaplaincy, ESUT, Rev. Fr. Valentine Ozono while announcing that Prof Mgbako died on July 11, 2026, said the ESUT Catholic Community will bid her farewell and offer a requiem Mass for the repose of her soul on Tuesday, August 18, 2026

“We sincerely appreciate all members of the community for their fervent prayers, fasting, and Masses offered for the recovery of our beloved sister, Prof. Miriam Mgbako.

“With faith in God and acceptance of His will, we announce that Prof. Miriam Mgbako died in the Lord on 11th July 2026. We entrust her soul to the loving hands of God, for “the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God” (Wisdom 3:1).

“The ESUT Catholic Community will bid her farewell and offer a Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul.

“We warmly encourage all members of the ESUT Catholic Community to come in their numbers as we gather in prayer to commend the soul of our beloved sister to God and to celebrate her life and dedicated service to the community.

“May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace,” he said.

Prof Ngozi Mgbako who worked as a staff of ESUT in the Faculty of Agriculture, died on 11 July, 2026 aged 66. She will be buried on Friday, August 21, 2026
