The Vice-Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has reappointed Prof. Obiageli Okafor as Director of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, has approved a major administrative reorganization, appointing seven new Directors and reappointing 11 others. The sweeping changes, which took effect on September 1, 2026, are aimed at positioning the institution for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Among the high-profile reappointments is Professor Obiageli Okafor of the Department of Mass Communication, who was reappointed to spearhead the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) programme. Professor Chike Anibeze was also retained as the Director of Academic Planning (DAP), alongside nine other prominent directors who retained their offices to maintain administrative continuity, meanwhile making 11 reappointments in total.

Prof. Okafor, a renowned expert in Public Relations Practice, brings a wealth of experience and academic leadership to this vital position, where she has delivered beyond measure.

Her reappointment comes as a recognition of her years of dedicated service in the field of education, particularly in public relations and communications. With a strong commitment to academic excellence, Prof. Okafor has elevated the ESUT JUPEB Programme to national recognition, making it the beacon of hope for secondary school leavers who missed out on JAMB.

In her second missionary journey, she is set to consolidate her collaborative efforts with various universities and educational bodies to further the objectives of JUPEB in ESUT.

Others reappointed by the university management include: Professors Ngozi Nnamani (General Studies Division); Oby Omeje (Quality Assurance/Servicom); Mike Anyanwaokoro (Admissions); Harmony Nwobodo-Nzeribe (Research and Innovations); and Gerald Ezirim (Institute of Peace, Conflict and Development Studies).

Others include: Drs. Thomas Onah (Municipal Services); Onyekachi Egwuagu (TETFund Desk Office); Victor Stephen Njom (Biotechnology and Research Centre); and Okwuchukwu Innocent Ani (Open and Distance Learning Centre); Professors Militus Ezeamaenyi (Industrial Training Unit); Martin Anikwe (ESUT Consultancy Services); Lawrence O. Eneje (Joint University Degree and Partnership); Norbert M. Ile (Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office); and Chinedu Aguba (Institute of Education).

Others are: Dr. Kingsley Okorie (Information and Communication Technology Centre); Chief Moses Ogbodo (Sports); while Dr. Stella Ndidi Arinze emerged Deputy Director, Information and Communication Technology Centre.

In a similar development, the two new Deans of faculties that were appointed for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 academic sessions are Drs. Sylvester Ogbodo (Basic Medical Sciences); and Sylvester Nweze (Acting Dean, Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences).

Equally, Dr. Stephen Ogbodo has been appointed the University Bookshop Manager for the 2026/2027 academic session with effect from September 1, 2026.

The appointments, which took effect on September 1, 2026, are for the 2026/2027 academic session.
