When operationalised, both staff and students will have free access to the Wi-Fi.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie who disclosed this on Thursday said the free Wi-Fi interment connect will upgrade teaching and learning in the university.

The VC noted that management will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) this moth between ESUT and a private vendor to clean up and manage the former Afrihub building.

“When the MoU is signed, there will be free Wi-Fi for 3 months in the vicinity of ESUT for staff and students alike,” he said.

The Vice-Chancellor added that the Afrihub Binding will be converted to incubation hub for ICT training.

“The management of ESUT wants to turn the Afrihub Building into an incubation hub where staff and students will undergo training. We probably will sign the MoU from now till Wednesday with a vendor that will take over the cleaning up and management of the Afrihub.

“When they start, they will use the place as incubation hub, where staff and students can go to undergo training. This is to boost employability of staff and students, you can undergo simple or complex trainings on web. I will go for training, because I too want to boost my acceptability and employability after I leave office.

“The free Wi-Fi is to foster good will between the institution and the vendor and it’s part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to the university. The incubation centre will be launched at the end of the month, and they are coming with a package that would interest all of us. The day the MoU is signed, 3 months free Wi-Fi for staff and students will be enjoyed everywhere within Esut” The VC said.
