ESUT Gets 11 New Professors, 29 Readers In Latest Promotion Exercise

In line with its efforts in prioritizing welfare of the staff, the management of Nigeria’s Premier University, the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has elevated 11 staff to the professorial rank while 29 Ph.D holders were promotes to Reader.
The announcement of the new Processors and Readers was the fallouts of the 183rd Governing Council Meeting of the University held on 20th and 21st June, 2025.
The Registrar of the University, Ambrose Ugwu, who disclosed this at the permanent site of the University at Agbani on Tuesday, stated that the personnel were found worthy of their ranks following an unbiased assessment of the Appointments and Promotion Committee which considered the external assessment reports of the affected staff.
He said that their promotions were as a result of their creative outputs which highlighted the thorough academic culture of the University.
Mr Ugwu equally restated the commitment of the University Management to prompt and timely promotion of the staff of the Institution.
“Since this Management came on board, we have been consistent in ensuring that anything that is due to any staff of the University is given to the person. We give promotions promptly,” he assured.
Those promoted to the rank of Professors include: the former Librarian of the University, Ukamaka Eze, Anastasia Nwakaego Duru, Benson Chinweuba Udeh, Vincent Aniaku, Godwin Onyebueke.
Others are: Prisca Ifeoma Udeozo, Justus Nwafor Offor, Josephine Ivoma Orga, Ikemefuna Ozor, Ejike Mgbenkedi, and Lawrence Adizue Isiofia.
It could be recalled that the management had in the previous academic session promoted 40 staff to the ranks of Professor and Readers. The number was made up of 18 Professors and 22 Readers
