The National Association of Nigerian Students President, Comr. Akinteye Babtee, has announced the commencement of the disbursement of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, upkeep allowance.

He disclosed this on Saturday via his social media handle.

Comrade Babtee stated that the upgrade of the NELFUND payment platform has been completed, and assured Nigerian students of seamless disbursement.

“With this development, the disbursement of students’ upkeep allowances will commence between Monday and Friday this week. 

“All beneficiaries will receive all outstanding payments, covering every month they are owed up to the present month”, he said.

He extended his appreciation to Nigerian students, the beneficiaries, for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this period. 

“We remain committed to engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely and seamless disbursement of students’ entitlements,” he said.\

This comes after he sanctioned some institutions that withheld students’ money.

It could be recalled that the upkeep allowance, which was established to lessen the burden on parents, stopped two months ago following rumors.
