The newsroom of the ESUT Monitor Newspaper (EMN) at the Departmen of Mass Communication, Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) had always been Joy Joseph’s sanctuary. For years, her life was measured in deadlines, breaking news, and the rhythmic clatter of keyboards as the ESUT Monitor Editor-in-Chief.

But this week, the “Excellent Pen” was rewriting her own headline, caught in a whirlwind of double blessings that felt almost too beautiful to be real. Just days ago,specifically on Monday, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, had stood before the campus and announced automatic employment for Joy, celebrating her brilliant mind and dedication to the university’s flagship paper.

It was a monumental victory, a crowning achievement for her years of diligence. Yet, as the campus community flooded the ESUT Monitor Newspaper Facebook Page with congratulations, Joy’s heart was already drifting toward the upcoming Saturday. Now, the heavy textbook ink and editorial sheets were replaced by the delicate rustle of a white bridal gown. The quiet, midnight editing hours had transformed into the joyful, chaotic chatter of family gathering from near and far.

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, family and friends will once again gather to celebrate her she walks down the aisle with the love of her life, Chukwuebuka Godswill Okoro at the Lighthouse Christian Chapel, Ukwuaki Bus-stop, Emene Enugu as they exchange their marital vows.

The campus watchdog, known for her sharp eyes and fearless leadership, stood quietly before a mirror, a radiant smile gracing her lips. On Saturday, she wouldn’t be directing a news team or chasing a story. She would be the story.

As she prepared to walk down the aisle, her heart swelled with profound gratitude. God had chosen this exact season to overflow her cup—handing her a secure, brilliant career with one hand and the promise of a lifetime of love with the other.

The same focus and passion that made her a legendary force in the Mass Communication department were now anchored in the eyes of the partner waiting for her at the altar.

 When the chapel doors open this Saturday, Joy Joseph will step forward not just as an accomplished editor, but as a deeply loved bride, ready to publish the most beautiful, unwritten chapter of her life.

And be rest assured that the entire crew of the ESUT Monitor will be that the Lighthouse Christian Chapel to give her the honour he deserves. Congratulations, Joy and may your new home be filled with joy
