In a remarkable display of gratitude and service, the immediate past Senate Leader of the 16th Students’ Union Government (SUG) Parliament of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Senator Ogbu Chidera, honoured the former and current Heads of the Department of Applied Microbiology with commemorative gifts while donating four wall mirrors to the department.

The presentation, held in the presence of coursemates, former departmental executives, and current student leaders, celebrated the contributions of Dr. Mbah-Omeje K. N., the immediate past Head of Department, and Dr. C. C. Ugwu, the current Head of Department.

Speaking during the ceremony, Senator Ogbu stated that the gesture fulfilled a promise he made upon his election as District Senator. Although circumstances delayed its execution, he expressed satisfaction in redeeming the pledge before his official sign-out from the university.

According to him, the gifts represent his appreciation for the mentorship, knowledge, and unwavering support he received from the department throughout his academic journey.

Beyond the presentation of commemorative frames, Senator Ogbu donated four elegant wall mirrors to the Department of Applied Microbiology as his contribution towards improving the department’s facilities and creating a more conducive learning environment for students.

The former and current Heads of Department formally unveiled the gifts and expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful recognition and generous contribution.
